Our collar and lead products and services

Collars – We stock a wide range of collars in a variety of styles. All of our collars are handmade, use quality components and are strengthened using nylon webbing. When choosing a collar, you should choose a width that spreads the weight comfortably on their neck when walking on a lead. A collar that is too narrow will dig into your dogs neck.

Martingale Collars (otherwise known as Greyhound Collars):

Originally designed for dogs whose necks are larger than their head (like greyhounds, whippets, Italian greyhounds and other sighthounds), however more recently martingale collars have become increasingly popular with owners of other breeds who prefer the gentle control of a martingale over a traditional choke, or half check chain. Martingale collars are also beneficial for dogs who back out of their buckle collars as they gently close up as the dog pulls on the lead.

A martingale is adjustable and can be fitted to the exact size required when the collar is in the closed position behind the dogs head, when it is in use on a lead. When not in use, the collar sits loosely and comfortably on the dogs neck. When the martingale loop is pulled, the collar should be snug enough not to come off over the head, but should not constrict the airway. If properly fitted a martingale collar is safe to wear at all times, however if it is fitted tighter for training purposes it should be used supervised only.

Our martingale collars come in 2 size, 1.5” and 1” and in 2 styles - Standard and Luxury.

Standard martingales are made from unlined webbing with decorative ribbon with a narrower martingale loop.

Luxury martingales are made from webbing wrapped in carefully chosen fabrics, providing a lined collar, perfect for dogs with delicate necks. The martingale loop on a luxury collar is the same width as the collar, making them perfect for wearing in comfort all of the time.

Clip Collars

Our clip collars come in a variety of widths, from ½ inch up to 1 ½ inch to cater for all neck sizes. As standard our clip collars use strength tested polypropylene buckles and adjusters with metal ‘D’ rings for added strength.  Our standard clip collars use nylon webbing with decorative ribbon.  A luxury, lined version of our clip collars are available upon request. These are perfect for using as both tag collars or walking collars provided that the width is suitable for your dog’s weight.

House collars

Originally designed for sighthounds (but suitable for all breeds) these collars are a single loop of webbing wrapped in one of our carefully chosen fabrics. These collars are ideal for hanging your pets I.D  tags on but it is not advised that they are used for taking your dog for a walk on. As they are lined, they are perfect for wearing all the time as they protect the delicate neck fur, whilst ensuring that your dog has its tags on at all times “just in case” something happens. These collars expand to fit over the head and then adjust back down to fit your dog using the adjuster.

Leads

Matching leads are available for some of our collars – these are made using high quality metal trigger clips and nylon webbing. Please enquire if you would like a matching lead for your collar.

Tassels and Charms

Our collar tassels and charms are a fun, decorative adornment for your dogs collar. Perfect for special occasions or adding that bit of sparkle.

The tassels are made from real leather, with assorted beads and metal fastenings and measure 5” long including the clip – each one is unique.

The collar charms are made from cast metal charms and assorted beads with metal fastenings in a variety of lengths.

Both the charms and tassels would look equally good on your key ring, handbag or backpack!

Please note: these are a delicate decorative item and should not be left on unsupervised.

Knitted Snoods

Snoods are the perfect way to help keep your dogs neck and ears warm in the icy cold – especially for keeping the wind out – like a scarf for dogs. Our snoods come in a wide variety of colours and sizes, all have a stretchy middle to stop them slipping down and a hole to allow you to connect the lead to the collar.

Snoods can also be used to keep long ears out of food bowls!
