The British Dog Groomers' Association is part of the Pet Care Trust - the national association for all pet care related industries.

The Pet Care Trust operates Codes of Practice for retailers, groomers, suppliers, boarding kennels and catteries through Great Britain.

The Codes of Practice aim to:

Ensure the highest standards of animal welfare.

Promote responsible pet ownership.

Develop staff training programmes.

Improve training standards.

Promote better understanding between customer and business.

Provide a conciliation service when complaints cannot be easily resolved.
